What is Hydro Graphics?
Hydro graphics is known by many names, water transfer printing , camo dipping , liquid imaging to name only a few. The process simply put is a method of applying printed designs to three-dimensional objects. You have seen this process on all types of products you already use everyday. Camouflage gunstocks, ATVs, and sports equipment are just a few of the more common items you may already have in your home that have been imaged using hydro graphics.
What types of materials can be imaged?
The hydrographic process can be used on metal, plastic, hard woods and various other materials.
How is it done?
A film printed with the graphic image is placed on the surface of a vat of water. An activator chemical is sprayed on the film to dissolve it into a liquid. The item is then lowered into the vat, through the floating ink layer that wraps around and adheres to it. After removing the item from the water it is rinsed and dried, then a top or clear coat is placed on the item.
Is the design permanent?
The imaged surface is as durable as the finish on your automobile. The top coat applied to the item creates a durable finish.
Why is it important to have your item imaged by 3D Aqua Imaging?
The imaging process must take into account the contours and finish of the surface. Each item must be prepared with careful detail. Your item may require numerous dips into the product and it is of utmost importance to make sure all seams are aligned properly. The application of the top or clear coat is critical to the longevity of your item’s life. Having your items finished with hydro graphics by the pros at 3D Aqua Imaging ensures you will get the unique look you want and the durability you need. Why even consider going anywhere else?
